What's more fun than going to school?

Most things in life, however, the goal of this project was to incentivize Texans ages 10 to over 65 to pursue higher education. Whether you just got out of elementary school and are looking for the right program or you are looking at your fourth career change, the My Texas Future site was designed to help guide them to their next educational milestone.

As the UI design lead, I was responsible for establishing and maintaining the design system, providing direction to other designers on the team, and creating the high-fidelity deliverables for the development team.

A custom multitool

The My Texas Future platform is equipped with a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help users navigate their educational journey. From a career and program search engine to detailed comparison tools, an interest quiz that maps personality traits to potential career paths, and a personalization layer that remembers user preferences — every feature was crafted to make the overwhelming process of choosing an education path feel manageable and even exciting.

The Odyssey

This was a 2-year journey of designing nearly every visual element across the platform. From the initial wireframes through to the final polished screens, the project demanded constant iteration and collaboration. Working closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders from the state of Texas, I helped translate complex requirements into intuitive interfaces that serve millions of Texans looking for their next step in education.
